The room I stayed in had a lovely patio with a stunning view of the lake. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and I couldn't help but spend hours just sitting out there. The bed was comfy, and the tile floor gave the room a cool and refreshing feel. The seating area was a nice touch too, perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring.

The only thing I didn't particularly like was that the room had a private entrance. It made it a little less convenient when it came to accessing shared facilities.

The location is beautiful with a lovely garden and close to a river for swimming. Plenty of activities and a 3 day, 2-night jungle tour available. Helpful and friendly staff at the guest house.

I got great value for my money with a nice and clean room, especially loved the cute cabin. The location was perfect, surrounded by nature and just a short walk to the river for a refreshing swim. The staff at Cheeky Monkeys were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

The breakfast option could be improved with a wider variety of choices.

We had a fantastic time at Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys. The location was secluded, with breathtaking jungle and river views. Sarah and Agus were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, with its own terrace for privacy and a stunning view. The guides for our jungle tour were experienced and knowledgeable, making the experience unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond to help us when we fell ill. our stay was exceptional thanks to the amazing staff and beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful setting in a quiet and relaxing location, comfortable and cheerfully decorated rooms with Western toilets and cold water showers, fantastic and reasonably priced food prepared by an onsite cook, friendly and attentive staff who treat you like family, owners who go above and beyond to ensure a great stay, experienced and knowledgeable jungle trek guide who cares about and respects the animals.

Best stay ever! Traveling as a family with 3 teenagers, we loved our time at Cheeky Monkeys. The comfortable and clean rooms, along with the beautiful garden, made for a delightful atmosphere. The chef Ellie's delicious meals were a highlight, and the friendly local people in the area added to the charm. The overnight jungle trek with Mr Wong as our guide and Saroule rafting us home was an incredible experience. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing jungle trek with attentive guides who made us feel safe. The location was beautiful with jungle and river views. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were welcoming and arranged transport and tours for us. The food was delicious.

During my stay at Cheeky Monkeys in Sumatra, I was blown away by the stunning location. The views from the rooms and seating areas overlooking the garden and jungle were absolutely breathtaking. The owners of the guesthouse were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with fresh flowers in our room, adding a special touch to our experience. The peaceful and secluded atmosphere of the location felt like our own private paradise. Despite being nestled away in the countryside, it was only a short walk to the river and a 15-minute walk to the nearby town of Bukit Lawang. It was the perfect spot to relax and connect with nature. The included breakfast was delicious, with Cheeky's fruit salad and the traditional rending curry being standout dishes. We also had the opportunity to arrange a jungle trek through the guesthouse, which turned out to be an amazing and educational experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and respected the environment, making us feel comfortable and safe. Without a doubt, we will be returning to Cheeky Monkeys in the future. We also enjoyed a fantastic jungle trek organized by the staff. we highly recommend this place for an incredible vacation.

We absolutely loved the location, nestled away in the jungle with stunning views of the river. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. The room was clean and beautifully decorated, with a private terrace that provided us with privacy and a scenic view. We also appreciated the knowledgeable and experienced guides who made our jungle trek unforgettable, with their magic tricks and night fishing. They even adjusted the route to cater to our needs.

We were not aware that there would be no air conditioning, which made the room quite hot. the lack of hot water for showers was a bit of a letdown, although it was manageable.

The staff at this place were ridiculously helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay fabulous. They even drove me to a swimming spot when my card got swallowed by the credit card machine. Such a glamorous adventure!

Oh, but you know, it's a shame they didn't offer a camel ride to the jungle. I mean, who wants to trek when you can ride a camel, right?
